Alexis Paul Arapoff, (Russian/American, 1904-1948) Portrait of Catherene Green Arapoff in a Colorful Wrap. Signed "Arapoff" l.l. Gouache and ink on paper, sight size 20 x 11 in., framed. Condition: Small tear or crease u.r. corner, gentle toning, not examined out of frame. Provenance: By descent in the family of the artist. Exhibitions: Alexis Paul Arapoff Memorial Exhibition, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, March 12-April 13, 1952, cat. 109. N.B. Alexis Paul Arapoff was killed in a car accident in Massachusetts in 1948. A memorial exhibition was held in his honor at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in the spring of 1952.
