Edmund Franklin Ward (American, 1892-1991) Two Works: Sunrise and The Resurrection of Christ . Signed "EF WARD" l.r. and l.c., respectively, Sunrise stamped "The estate of/EDMUND F. WARD" on the stretcher, titled and inscribed "...NOV 29/PAGE 7..." on the reverse, Christ with a label from The Pictorial Review Company affixed to the reverse, inscribed "From EF Ward67 Heatherbloom Rd./White Plains, N.Y." on the stretcher. Both oil on canvas, Sunrise 32 x 32 1/2 in., Christ 30 x 30 in., both unframed. Condition: Sunrise lined, losses, patch reinforcements; Christ with abrasions, losses, surface grime. Provenance: Through the artist's estate.
