Portrait Miniature of a Young Woman Wearing a Blue Dress, attributed to Clarissa Peters Russell (American, 1809-1854), watercolor on ivory with gilt accents, c. 1840, depicting a bust-length portrait of the woman wearing a dark blue dress with white lace trim on the neckline and wearing gold earrings, brooch, and watch chain, 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 in., housed in a molded thermoplastic frame with velvet and embossed brass liners.
