Miniature Alarm Timepiece by Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Connecticut, c. 1835-40, wooden dial with Arabic numerals, mahogany case with stenciled three-quarter columns flanking the looking glass, stenciled splat capping the case, printed maker's label inside the case stating Improved Timepiece, Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, cased and sold... , thirty-hour wooden time and alarm movement with two weights and pendulum, ht. 22 3/4 in. These rare clocks are discussed in Bryan Rogers and Joseph Arvay, "The Hoadley Alarm Timepiece", NAWCC Bulletin , August, 1996, pp. 501-4. No significant repairs, restoration or replacements, dial, both glasses, stenciling, movement, weights and pendulum are original, some losses on printed lable, a near pristine example of a rare clock.
