Carved Walnut Black Forest Cuckoo Clock, c. 1870, elaborately carved case with perched eagle at the top, the bone Roman numeral and turned wooded dial framed by carved oak leaves, acorns, and nesting bird with eggs at the bottom, eight-day time and strike spring powered movement with cuckoo automaton and bellow activated sound on the hour and half, ht. 38 in. This impressive case, although intended for a weight powered movement with holes for chains and pendulum, the spring powered movement appears to be the original; pendulum is a replacement, bellows restored.
