Attributed to Edwin Lord Weeks (American, 1849-1903) Donkey in the Desert . Inscribed "E. WEEKS" faintly l.r., also inscribed "Edward Lord Wiekes [ sic ]" in a later hand on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 9 1/4 x 12 1/2 in., framed. Condition: Lined, surface abrasions, surface grime. Provenance: Through the collection of Samuel E. Codman, Charles G. Loring House, Prides Crossing, Massachusetts. Lined, abrasions/minor losses to area near donkey's froont hooves, surface grime.
