Painted Vaudeville Trade Sign Panel, America, late 19th century, shaped plywood panel centered with inscription "TONY PASTORS" over a red, white, and blue shield with 1885 painted over 1897 flanked by cherubs, (paint losses), 24 x 54 3/4 in. Note: This sign likely was hung at a late 19th century vaudeville performance theater. Tony Pastor (May 28, 1837–Aug. 26, 1908) was an American impresario, variety performer, and theatre owner in New York City.
