Federal Mahogany Inlaid Tall Case Clock, James Cary, Jr. , Brunswick, Maine, c. 1810-15, the white-painted and gilt iron dial with moon's age in the arch, seconds hand, and calendar aperture, with brass eight-day weight-driven movement, (minor imperfections), ht. 92 1/2 in. Provenance: Israel Sack, New York, c. 1957. Literature: This clock is illustrated and described in American Antiques from Israel Sack Collection, Highland House Publishers, Washington, DC, p. 91, No. 275. Right front and rear feet are pieced a quarter of an inch, not at all evident, a few patches to the veneer on the left side of the case, couple patches to the banding on the front of the case, minor paint loss to dial. These problems are fairly inconsequential.
