Parian Ware Syrup Pitcher, U. S. Pottery Company, 1847-58, Bennington, Vermont, clear-glazed paneled pitcher, ornamented with molded grape leaves, grape clusters, and lily-of-the-valley, with mask spout, ht. 4 1/4 in. Provenance: Ex George S. McKearin collection, with paper collection label on base. Note: Fragments of this model pitcher were found on a dig at the site of the former U.S. Pottery Co. in Bennington, Vermont. The surface with several popped surface bubbles in the making, there are four small pierced holes around the rim likely for a cover possibly metal, minor hairline on side of spout..
