Flint Enamel Glazed Pottery Recumbent Cow Spill Vase, Lyman, Fenton & Co. , Bennington, Vermont, 1848-58, with applied "coleslaw" foliage on shaped base, the underside with partial large circular impressed 1849 mark, ht. 7 1/2, dia. 10 1/4 in. Literature: Illustrated in "Fancy Rockingham" Pottery: The Modeller and Ceramics in Nineteenth-Century America , by Diana Stradling, University of Richmond Museums, 2005, p. 61. Very minor losse to foliage, and small firing crack on head between horns in the making- otherwise very good condition.
