Classical Carved Birch and Mahogany Veneer Chest of Drawers, Rutland County, Vermont, possibly by Caleb Knowlton, Brandon, Vermont, c. 1825-35, shaped backsplash above three short drawers on projecting case of four drawers, flanked by acanthus-carved ogee-molded capitals on half-engaged pineapple-carved and ring-turned posts, all on bulbous turned feet, old surface, (minor imperfections), ht. 48 1/2, case wd. 41, dp. 20 in. backsplash reshaped, water stains to top.
