Samuel V. Chamberlain (American, 1895-1975) Manhattan Twilight, 1935, sixth state of nine (Chamberlain & Kingsland, 111). Signed "Samuel Chamberlain" in pencil l.r., inscribed "Sixth State 2/2" in pencil l.l. Drypoint on paper with a partial BFK Rives watermark, plate size 13 1/4 x 9 1/2 in. (33.4 x 24.3 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Margins 1 1/4 inches or more with deckled edges, annotations to lower margin, minute nicks/tears to edges. Provenance: Through the family of the artist. The sheet measures 16 3/8 x 13 inches, and is gently toned at the edges. The creases and nicks are primarily to the right margin and near the lower left corner.
