Oil on canvas, 24 x 20 in. (61.0 x 50.8 cm), framed. Condition: Minor flaking and surface grime. Provenance: Through the collection of Warren W. Dutcher, Jr., Hopedale, Massachusetts; by family descent, Massachusetts. Areas of tiny paint losses from flaking: within the skirt area 8 x 4 1/2 inches overall, u.r. quadrant above pottery 4 x 4 inches overall, at the figure's seat 3 x 2 inches overall, and in the figure's face 2 x 1 1/2 inches overall. Possible small area of retouch or foreign pigment in the background to left of the figure's head, measuring 1/4 x 1/8 inches.
