Boston School, 19th Century Study of a Rose Unsigned. Oil on panel, 7 3/8 x 9 1/2 in. (18.7 x 24.1 cm), framed. Condition: Craquelure, minor abrasions beneath frame liner. Unprimed panel, minor surface grime, small hole through the panel, as if from a prior mounting, located center left edge. Surface imperfection at the top of the rose, including two raised areas with craquelure, 5/8 in. and 1/2 in., wide as well as a dent to the left of these measuring 1/4 in. but without any paint losses. Scattered minor paint losses overall and very fine craquelure.
