Johann Josef Geisser (Swiss, 1824-1894) Lot of Two Alpine Views Each signed "J. Geisser" l.l., identified on presentation plaques. Oil on canvas, sizes to 18 1/2 x 15 1/4 in. (47.0 x 38.7 cm), framed. Condition: One with tear l.l., patch reinforcements, minor retouch. Valley with retouch over mended inverted L-shaped tear to u.l. quadrant, measuring approximately 1/4 x 1/2 in. with tape reinforcement to the reverse. Rippling to canvas, which may be benefit from having stretcher keys tightened. Craquelure to sky area. Lake with tear to l.l. quadrant measuring approximately 7 in. length. Several dots of retouch to u.r. quadrant along frame liner, each measuring less than 1/8 x 1/8 in.
