Cornelis Bouwmeester (Dutch, 1652-1733) Lot of Two Marine Paintings: Vessels in Port in Calm Seas and Brisk Wind in Port Vessels initialed "C··B· M" l. l., Wind initialed "C/B·M" l.r., identified on labels from Kunsthandel P. de Boer, Amsterdam, on the reverse. Mixed media with ink on panel, sizes to 11 x 13 5/8 in. (28.0 x 34.5 cm), framed. Condition: Both with retouch and fine craquelure. Each with a collector's label on the reverse showing an ornate letter "I" within an octagon, with a small letter "B" underneath. Vessels with craquelure throughout; dashes of retouch throughout, with the largest area of retouch to the u.l. corner spanning approximately 4 1/2 x 8 in. at the extreme height and width. Wind with craquelure throughout, dashes of retouch throughout with the largest area to u.l. corner spanning approx. 5 x 5 1/2 in. at extreme height and width.
