Jan Hendrik Boshamer (Dutch, b. 1775) Vessels in a Calm Port Incised "J. H. Boshamer fec." l.r. Oil on panel, 14 5/8 x 20 in. (37.5 x 50.5 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, repair to horizontal crack in panel, fine craquelure, overglaze to signature area. Light, feathered retouch to the sky area traversing the red flag in the u.l. quadrant, with the largest area spanning approx. 2 x 13 inches at the extreme height and width. Several scattered dots of retouch to l.r. and l.l. quadrant. Glue residue to the reverse of restored crack in panel, crack approx. 5 1/2 inches from top of panel.
