Sidney Wolfson (American, 1911-1973) Untitled Signed and dated "Sidney Wolfson 1952" on the reverse. Oil on canvasboard, 16 x 20 in. (40.6 x 50.8 cm), framed. Condition: Mounted to panel, minor surface abrasions, surface grime, craquelure. Scattered small abrasions, dings, lines of craquelure, and stray marks, particularly in the lower half. Craquelure with lifing (1/4 in.) l.c. Paint losses along left edge. Abrasion l.c. measruing 1-1/2 in. with some paint loss and craquelure. Abrasion (1/2") with paint loss l.c. in cream colored stripe. Paint loss to top layer u.r. corner and to lesser extent to l.r. corner. Staining lower edge. Surface grime, natural pigment fluorescence with no evidence of any retouch.
