Jay Hall Connaway (American, 1893-1970) Fish Beach, Monhegan, at Night Signed "Connaway" l. r., titled and inscribed on the reverse, identified on a label from Vose Galleries, Boston, affixed to the reverse. Oil on Masonite, 25 1/4 x 30 1/8 in. (64.2 x 76.5 cm), framed. Condition: Natural pigment fluorescence, surface grime. Provenance: From a private Maine collection. Numbered and inscribed, "F 15/I 98/W 5705/Fish Beach, Night/Monhegan/ 25 x 30 1/4/Souvenir" on the reverse. Minor surface imperfections, including some scattered areas where raised pigment surfaces have been slightly rubbed, u.c. No additional condition issues to report.
