Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973) L'age de soleil (pour Roby), 1950 (Bloch, 680). Signed and inscribed in the plate, inscribed in pencil on the mat. Etching on paper, plate size 9 1/8 x 7 in. (23.2 x 17.7 cm), framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame. Sheet size 14 15/16 x 11 1/8 in. (37.9 x 28.1 cm). Subtle rippling, small handling crease(about 1 cm) to u.r. quadrant, just inside the plate mark. Sheet is affixed to the backing mat with cellophane tape, spaced at the top and on each side, that has yellowed, loosened in parts, and left gum residue staining in the margins. The sheet is also affixed to the back mat in the l.r. corner. Partial watermark ("...HES") l.r. corner. Unable to examine the reverse. Mat is inscribed "Eau forte originale" l.l. and "Picasso" l.r. There is a framer's label from Sue Page Shop, Wellesley, Massachusetts, on the frame backing paper.
