Walter Gramatté (German, 1897-1929) Müdes Mädchen, 1923, proof impression (Eckhardt, 167). Signed and dated "Walter Gramatté 23" in pencil l.r., inscribed "Probedruck..." in pencil l.l. Etching in black and blue on paper, plate size 9 1/8 x 6 1/2 in. (23.1 x 16.4 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins over 3 1/2 inches with deckled edges, unobtrusive toning, annotations to lower margin, creases to lower edge. The sheet measures 20 5/8 x 14 7/8 inches, and is ripplings, especially within the area of the image. There are gentle pressed creases along the left edge (these stay well outside of the plate mark). There is pin-point foxing, visible primarily on the reverse.
