Pair of Portuguese Silver Candlesticks, Oporto, 1836-43, maker's mark Lara, with paneled tulip-shaped sconce and baluster stem, tiered, square base, chased and embossed with leaftip and flower banding, raised on feet formed as grotesque beast masks with spheres in their mouths, ht. 9 3/4 in., approx. 29 troy oz. one with break/hole at lower knop of stem approx. 5/8" long, and slight lean to one side. with overall minor age typical surface wear, and some scratching to nozzles.
