Meissen-type Schneeballen Porcelain Urn and Lid , Germany, late 19th/early 20th century, allover decorated with densely packed applied flowerheads, the domed cover with a fruiting cherry branch, the body flanked by entwined branch handles issuing mayflower pom-poms applied with various brightly colored birds, on a conforming stepped socle, with crossed swords mark, ht. 21 3/8 in. Lacking parrot that perches on cover, numerous allover chips to densely-packed flowerheads, chips to leaves on vine, chips to wings on birds (one broken but present), surface wear to gilding.
