William IV/Early Victorian Mahogany Tallcase Clock, c. 1840, the hood with swan's neck cresting centered by a carved shell, with ring-turned columns, the dial painted with a cherub visiting a reclining man, with weighted, two cylinder chiming movement, the case with short door flanked by engaged ring-turned balusters, on arch-paneled plinth base and small bracket feet, ht. 95, wd. 29 1/2 in. Front door needs reattaching. Edge chips to base of hood and to right column of case. Edge nicks throughout. Shrinkage cracks to right and left side of base. Wear to painted numerals of dial. Loss to part of bone escutcheon. Pendulum bob off stem, and stem may need repair. Has three weights.
