Laura Coombs Hills (American, 1859-1952) Portrait Miniature of Mary Barbour of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Signed "Laura Hills 1918" l.l. Watercolor on ivory, oval portrait, 4 x 3 in., in a chased gilt-brass pendant case which sits in a hinged leather case. Accompanied by a receipt for the miniature, handwritten by Laura Hills. Condition: Very good. The portrait miniature is in very good condition. There are no losses, cracks, chips, scratches, or any other problems with it. The chased gilt brass case is also in very good condition. Leather covered case only: The outer leather-covered oval case shows wear and scattered top surface losses to the leather.
