Probably Thomas Bonar, lithographer (New York, 19th Century) U. S. STEAM FRIGATE ROANOKE, BUILT-1852: Razeed at the Brooklyn Navy Yard: Iron Clad and Equipped with Three Ericsson Turrets at the Novelty Iron Works 1863. , c. 1863, identified in inscriptions, with two columns of statistics in the title margin, lithograph on paper, sight size 18 1/4 x 29 in., in a later frame. Condition: Minor toning, acid stains, scattered foxing, not examined out of frame. Note: During the Civil War the Roanoke was cut down and transformed into a three-turret monitor, and the only ship with three turrets.
