Needlework Sampler, executed by Smilinda Wilder, Leominster, Massachusetts, 1811, the sampler stitched with silk threads on a gauze ground, centered with an oval reserve with alphabets and a needlework verse over a scene with an urn of flowers in a landscape with trees and shrubs over the inscription: "Wrought by Smilinda Wilder in her 13th year 1811," all enclosed by a flowering vine, (minor toning, fading, and light stains), 17 x 15 in. , in original molded wood frame. Descent in the Wilder family, Leominster, Massachusetts. Note: Smilinda Wilder was the third of twelve children born to Peter Andrew Wilder and Sarah Joslyn of Leominster, Massachusetts.
