Oriental, likely Japanese, figural porcelain inkwell with large rounded lid above squared chamber with chamfered corners. Exterior of lid and body decorated with stylized figures holding fans, swords, and rods in shades of blue, green, brown, black and gold. Edges and a few scattered elements on figures accented in gilt. Hinged lid with brass metal banding that opens to access inkwell (glass insert missing). Hole at bottom for assistance retrieving ink well insert. Unmarked. Height 5" x 3" square.
