Chippendale Mahogany Carved Gaming Table with Drawer, Boston or Charlestown, c. 1770-90, the rectangular folding top with squared corners opens to playing surface of early green wool baize bordered by gold-tooled leather, on a conformingly shaped skirt with thumbmolded drawer joined by cabriole legs with acanthus-carved knees and claw-and-ball feet, original brass, old refinish, (imperfections), ht. 30, top wd. 34 1/2, top dp. 16 1/2 in. missing drawer lock, brace to underside of top to arrest cracks, some replaced blocking, non-swinging back leg's foot made in two parts, swing leg loose and with cracks and renailing above knee, repair at left front leg, small patch around one pin at right front leg, small triangular patch to underside of top near hinge, wear to baise at fold, drawer renailed.
