Chippendale Mahogany Chest of Drawers, Massachusetts or Connecticut, late 18th century, the overhanging top with molded edge with serpentine front and half-serpentine sides on a serpentine-front case of four scratch-beaded graduated drawers, on ogee bracket feet, old brass bail pulls, refinished, (minor imperfections), ht. 32, wd. 37, dp. 20 in. Note: Printed label on backboard reads "Lee Powers, Upholsterer and Interior Decorator, Furniture, Upholstery Goods, New and Second Hand Carpets, Antique Furniture a Specialty, 30 Boylston Street, near Harvard Square, Cambridge, 18 July 1890." There are small patches and/or losses to about four of the drawer corners; 2 locks are gone; there are shrinkage cracks to the case sides; the back two feet have been cracked and reglued; the backboards are original but renailed..
