American Guitar, C. F. Martin & Company, Nazareth, 1941, Style D-45, stamped D-45, 79583 at the upper block, length of back 20 in., width of lower bout 15 3/4 in., with period case. All parts original. Missing retainer screw on A tuner. Surface scratches and abrasions. Pick wear on both sides of fingerboard, belt buckle wear to center of back. Varnish wear is judged to be superficial on back just to wood surface. Top pick wear has left the hard reeds slightly burnished, soft grain not worn below wood surface. Bridge saddle and top nut have been filed, very clean job. Fret wear is medum on 1-5, slight on 6-9, and and almost none on 10-20. Case is a period Gibson case with red stripe.
