Dauvissat (Rene & Vincent) Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses 2002 Chablis "This is a big step up in power and weight with a gorgeously complex nose of minerals, white flowers and that wonderful crushed oyster shell and iodine component followed by pure, muscular, fantastically detailed and precise flavors that coat the palate with buckets of sappy extract. This is quite concentrated and powerful yet there is a real sense of grace and class that separates this from all of the prior wines. The finish builds and builds until it finally explodes on the superbly long back end with a sense of crystalline minerality yet all the while this remains a wine built more along the lines of finesse rather than the power of the Les Clos though it must be said that the '02 Preuses is hardly shy.
