(Revolutionary War, Privateering), Hancock, John (1737-1793) and Thomson, Charles, ( 729-1824) , Manuscript document signed by both, one page, January 29th, 1776, to William Alexander (Lord Stirling), copy of a resolution commending Alexander for his seizure of the ship Blue Mountain Valley and ordering him to secure the ship until it can be sold, bifolium, (separated along fold, affecting text, browning chipping). Note: In one of the early Colonial naval "victories" of the war, Alexander and a group of approximately forty men captured this ship off Sandy Hook on January 23rd, 1776.
