Three Sunderland Pink Luster Transfer-decorated Pottery Bowls, England, 19th century, the largest decorated around on the sides with a view of the bridge over the Wear river, "Sailor's Fairwell [ sic ]," and a verse with the first line "Home is a name of more than magic spell"; the second bowl with interior vignettes of farmer's arms, two verses "Success to the Farmer..." and "Life's like a ship in constant motion...," and centered with a compass, the exterior with views "A West View of the Cast Iron Bridge Over the River Wear..." and "The Flag That's Braved a Thousand Years..." and a verse "When tempests mingle sea and sky..."; the last bowl with interior depicting a ship and two verses: "Remembrance," and The tear," the exterior depicting "The Mariner's Compass," "The Gardner's Arms," and a verse "The Sailor's Tear," ht. 4 1/4-4 1/2, dia. 8 1/2-9 1/2 in.
