Three Large Sunderland Pink Lustre Transfer-decorated Pottery Bowls, England, 19th century, the largest bowl decorated with two ships at sea and a pious verse on the exterior, "Young Cottagers," "Sunderland Bridge," and two pious verses to the bowl interior; the second bowl with an allegorical figure of Justice to the bowl center and a oval reserve depicting a ship, a sailor's verse, and remembrance verse; the third bowl centered with an allegorical figure of faith surrounded by "The Gauntlet Clipper Ship," a sailor's verse, and the "Sunderland Bridge," the exterior depicting "The Agamemnon in a Storm," a sailor's prayer, and the "New Bridge Over the Wear at Sunderland," (imperfections), ht. 4 3/8-5 3/8, dia. 10 1/8-10 5/8 in. large bowl- six rim lines, glaze wear, 1 in. base chip; bowl 2glaze wear to rim, bowl 3- two rim lines, glaze wear to rim some discoloration.
