Carved Ivory Shrine, China, 19th century, four doors carved in low relief on both sides, the two side panels depicting various Immortals in elaborately carved landscapes; the doors open on both sides to reveal standing figures of the Buddha and two attendants on one side and Kuan Yin and two attendants on the other, the roof carved with the Buddhist reverse swastika and geometric symbols on a lotus ground, the pedestal base carved with lotus blossoms, ht. 5 3/4, wd. 4 in. in good condition
