Peking Glass Covered Jar, China, 19/20th century, baluster form, maroon overlay carved through to an opaque white ground, decorated with a continuous scene featuring an old man and a boy standing on a bridge beside a pavilion, in a garden with pine trees, plum blossoms, rockwork, a bird, and lingzhi , with calligraphy, the cover carved with ruyi motifs and lappets, mark on base, ht. 6 1/2 in. in good condition
