Blue-ground Vase, China, 20th century, bulbous form, decorated in gilt with roundels each comprised of a shou character flanked by a pair of bats, the shoulder painted with a geometric band with vignettes of books and scrolls, with upright leaves along the bamboo-shaped neck, ruyi and fret motifs along the bulbous mouth, scroll handles, ht. 14 in. minor loss of gilt, possibly retouched along the mouth
