Nine Royal Doulton Plates Depicting Characters from Shakespeare Plays, England, c. 1930, each polychrome transfer-decorated, with a single identified figure against an evocative background and hunter green rim, depicting: Wolsey, Orlando, Shylock, Falstaff, Anne Page, Juliet, Romeo, Portia, and Katharine, stamped factory marks, dia. 10 3/8 in. Most with crazing, scattered loss to surface enamel, and surface abrasions. Scattered small glaze flakes and chips to rims.
