Marble-top Three Drawer Commode, Baltic region, late 18th century, breche violette marble top above breakfront case with string inlay throughout and a slight outward flare to the bottom drawer and apron, with canted corners terminating in fluted feet headed by carved flowerheads, ht. 38 1/2, wd. 71, dp. 25 1/2 in. Scattered chips, losses and lifting to veneer throughout. Some veneer chips included others have been replaced. Vertical crack to side panels. One front foot with repaired break.
