Auguste-Joseph Delecluse (French, 1855-1928) Four Scenes of Leisure Pursuits set in Classical Landscapes Unsigned. Oil on canvas mounted to curved plywood panels, height 73 1/2 in. (186.7 cm), widths up to 50 1/2 in. (128.3 cm), unframed. Condition: Scattered surface abrasions, upper and lower edges with drilled holes for mounting, mild surface grime. Provenance: From a Canadian private collection to a Boston private collection (1984), through to current owner. N.B. This series of four pastoral scenes are thought to be designs for tapestries. The two large panels each measure 73 1/2 x 50 1/2 inches. The two narrower panels are of differing widths, measuring 30 1/2 in. and 36 1/2 in. across. All four panels are the same height.
