Biedermeier Painted and Parcel-gilt, Onyx, and Gilt-metal-mounted Mantel Clock, mid-19th century, with two-train movement in round bezel flanked by wood scrolls, on temple-form case with four white onyx pilasters/columns before a mirrored gallery, centered by green and gold-painted drapery, with giltwood and gilt-metal accenting, the body grain painted as tortoiseshell, on onyx ball feet, ht. 20 in. a few shrinkage cracks to veneer around bezel. a few light chips to giltwood and to onyx pilasters/columns. one onyx column off but present. Loss to finial. overall light age wear and dryness. lacking rear door behind movement. needs a cleaning. not guaranteed to be in working order.
