Important Lancaster, Pennsylvania Queen Anne cherry tall case clock, dated 1762 , the eight-day works with a brass face, inscribed Rudy Stoner , the case with overall banded wood inlays and pewter edging, the sarcophagus with the date and initials FR ST , 100" h. Few if any American clocks with such extensive pewter inlay are known, making this a true American rarity. A closely related case was sold by Horst Auctions and is currently in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Provenance: West Virginia estate.
