Needlework Sampler, "Christy Clark/Her Work Finished June 22 1809 Aged 9 Years," stitched with silk threads on a wool gauze ground, depicting a central urn of flowers issuing flowering vines separating pious verses of the four seasons of life, with trees, animals, birds, and butterflies, and an undulating geometric band, all enclosed in a geometric vine, (scattered losses to background fabric, minor toning), 14 1/4 x 12 in. , in a molded oak frame with gilt liner.
