Pair of Chippendale Mahogany Carved Side Chairs, Boston, c. 1760-80, the serpentine cresting centering a fan with scroll-carved terminals, above the Gothic carved splat, on overupholstered seat joining cabriole legs with acanthus-carved knees and claw-and-ball feet, refinished, (imperfections), ht. 38 1/2, seat ht. 18 in. Provenance: John Isabra Dexter Family, Providence, Rhode Island. one chair with broken rear stretcher, shoe off one splat, missing, some knee returns replaced, one chair missing inner knee returns.
