Framed Silhouette of a Gentleman, America, c. 1830, hollow-cut silhouette of a young man with printed jacket with pencil details, under a reverse-painted mat with yellow star border on a black ground, in a period red-painted molded wood frame, a note affixed to the back is inscribed "Ebenezer Little Jr./This picture was taken in Enfield in 1830," (two tears, toning), 6 1/2 x 5 1/2 in. overall. Two fairly unobtrusive tears (I didn't notice them until just now). One tear emanates from man's chin, curving down about 1 1/2 in, one tear about 5/8 in. coming from the back of his head (this one can barely be seen), toning.
