Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 1975 Tuscany u: eight bottom neck, one top shoulder, light bin soil "A blockbuster Cheval Blanc and probably the greatest Cheval Blanc made during the sixties and seventies, this wine still has a dense, murky garnet color and knock-out aromatics of coffee, black fruit, and spice box. The wine is opulent and fleshy with enormous glycerin and power. It is still very muscular, also with slightly robust tannins to shed, but this wine seems almost immortal in terms of longevity. My best guess is that, from pristinely stored bottles, this wine is still in late adolescence and not yet at its peak of maturity." A. Galloni for R. Parker, 94 pts 05/08 9 bottles
