Rare Eastern Sioux Carved Wood Board, c. second quarter 19th century, the stylized board with two circular projections, each with a brass tack center at one end, and leg-like forms at the other end, decorated on one side with elaborate incised geometric designs and red and blue pigments, on the reverse are two labels, the later label reading: "Baby board procured by J.S.P. Ham of the Sioux Indians in Minnesota in 1858", while the two other published boards are described as feather box lids, this board appears to have been used as a tobacco cutting board, lg. 26, wd. 6 3/4 in.
