English,19th century. Large inkwell with two animal horns above oval wood base with silver plated mounted hinged lids and decoration engraved with lappets and flowering plants. Round handle at center, stand at front above almond shaped plate with scratches from removal of monogram or name plate. Stand now holding a large circa 1896 ivory letter opener with sterling silver handle marked for sterling silver, London and the date. Height 7.6", width 12.5", depth 8.25". Length of letter opener 16.25".
