Ute Beaded Hide Pipe Bag, c. last quarter 19th century, the tab-style bag beaded on the front and most of the back with bold multicolor geometric designs, remnant metal chain from the flap and tab, lg. 15 in. Provenance: Family descent from William Manderfield, co-owner of the Santa Fe New Mexican, who became a well-known civic and political figure in New Mexico, (the Manderfield Room is now part of The Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe).
